The oxford outfit have released 6 albums since their formation in 1993 with three of those albums obtaining the coveted platinum status. Their first album, ‘I should Coco’ reached Number 1 in the UK Album chart in 1995 and was nominated for the prestigious Mercury Prize.

The band are best known for their singles ‘Pumping On Your Stereo’, ‘Moving’ and their smash hit ‘Alright’ which peaked at number two on the UK Singles Chart and won the band a Ivor Novello award for best contemporary song.

Early Bird tickets for the festival, which will enable customers to see Supergrass and other amazing acts at discounted prices, are currently still available. People can get their Early Bird tickets from www.godivafestival.com/buytickets with the discounted price lasting until midnight on Friday 6 August.

Cllr Abdul Salam Khan, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Events said:

“We’re really pleased to be able to announce our Friday line-up for this year’s Godiva. Supergrass are a top band with a great reputation and I’m sure they will do a fantastic job of headlining that night.

Remember, Early Bird tickets are only available until midnight on Friday 6 August. So, I encourage everyone to take advantage of the early bird prices and to get their tickets before then.”

Joining Supergrass on the Friday night bill will be Northern Irish rock band Therapy? and local rising stars Candid.

Therapy? have sold over three million albums worldwide and will bring their unique brand of punk rock to the Friday night.  The band recently celebrated their 30th anniversary together.

Candid, who are from Coventry, have been selling out venues across the city. Their music offers a mixture of searing guitar riffs, irresistible drumbeats and a backbone of honest, unreserved lyrics. It’s not one to be missed.
