Published: Tuesday, 03 August 2021

Daylight Robbery are set to take over the 2nd outdoor stage at this year’s Godiva Festival. Presenting the launch party for its forthcoming immersive, theatrical exhibition “House Is A Feeling”, to be staged in a massive warehouse space in Coventry for a month in November 2021

On the 4th September, at Godiva, the 2nd outdoor stage area will be transformed for 1000s of happy people to enjoy and participate in a nod to the unsung geniuses from Coventry, who helped lay the foundations for the multi-million pound industry that dance music has become. Which has been whitewashed from Coventry’s history…until now.

Under the stars, Coventry will celebrate the leading role it played in the electronic house music revolution which changed youth culture and music around the world.

All showcased by the biggest laser systems and live vision mixing produced by Daylight Robbery.

Coventry was at the epicentre of this cultural explosion, hosting the 1st legal all-night warehouse parties, staged by Amnesia House, and then a few months later the world’s 1st dance music super club, with the U. K’s 1st 24-hour licensed venue, The Eclipse.

The night will begin with a Coventry Legend - presenting The Man Parris Experience ( supported by Kayne Lynas & Noizze B ).  Jeff ‘Man’ Parris is a legend of the rave music scene, beginning in pubs and clubs around Coventry in the late 1980’s Jeff plied his trade as a DJ using his own equipment. In 1988 he was approached by Coventry’s own Amnesia House to use his equipment and talents in the cities 1st illegal warehouse rave. From there he never looked back, becoming more well known for his talents as an M.C. He went on to grace the stages of the biggest events in the country, regularly performing in front of over 15000 party people for promoters such as Amnesia House, Dreamscape, Helter Skelter and more. He was the voice of the electronic dance music revolution which engulfed the U.K in the late 1980’s/early 1990’s.

The Eclipse residents Parks & Wilson return to Coventry to play a 2-hour set. Mick Park & Michael Wilson started out at The Eclipse in 1990. From there they branched out and DJ ’ed at clubs all over the world from Pacha in Ibiza to Avalon in L.A. Between them they have remixed some of the worlds biggest artists including U2, Artic Monkeys, Robbie Williams, Paul Oakenfold to name just a few. Mick Park is currently performing as Tilt and is managing director of Guerilla Movement record label. Michael Wilson also has his own record label, is part of the world renown editorial team at DJ Mag and currently resides on the party Island of Ibiza.
