Voting process

Step 1: Each audience member will receive one token on arrival before the first artist/bands performs.

Step 2: After all artists/bands perform, the audience member will exchange their token for a voting form.

Step 3: Each audience member must write down on the voting form:
1 – For their first choice (Favourite artist/band)
2 – For their second choice (Second favourite artist/band)

Step 4: The judges must collectively rank each artist/band from 1 – 6:
1 – Most impressed
2 – Least impressed

How votes are counted - audience votes

The individual responsible for counting the votes will need to tally and total the audience points per artist.

1st choice with worth 2 points and 2nd choice is worth 1 point.

The individual responsible for counting the votes will then rank the artist/band from 1- 6 with the highest total from the audience points being ranked 1 and the lowest total being ranked 6. The individual responsible for counting the votes will then convert the rank to an audience score using the key below:

Each ranking converts into points:
1st Place – 6 Points
2nd Place – 5 Points
3rd Place – 4 Points
4th Place – 3 Points
5th Place – 2 Points
6th Place – 1 Point

How votes are counted - judges votes

Once the Judges have finished ranking the artists/bands in step 4, the individual responsible for counting the votes will then convert their rank to a judge’s score using the key below:

Each ranking converts into points:
1st Place – 10 Points
2nd Place – 6 Points
3rd Place – 4 Points
4th Place – 3 Points
5th Place – 2 Points
6th Place – 1 Point

Combining the audience and judge's scores

The audience score and judges score must be added together to create a ‘combined total’. A final rank is to be created to confirm the winners/finalists. Highest combined total = 1 place.

If any scores are equal, the band with the higher judge’s score should take the higher final rank place.

Winners

The first and second place artist/bands go through from heats to the semi-final. The first, second and third bands go through from the semi-final to the final.

The heat organiser or a member of staff representing the venue should announce the results from the stage. It is up to the announcer whether just the successful acts are announced as winners, or whether artist/bands are read out in order of rank.

It should be mentioned that the decision is final, and the results are a combination of judges and audience score, without going into the all the details of the scoring process.
