Conditions of entry and prohibited items

Conditions of entry

Coventry City Council and their representatives reserve the right to refuse entry to the site, and access will be restricted by the following conditions of entry. Failure to comply with these conditions will result in you being turned away from the Festival site:

  • The site will be fenced and patrons are subject to a mandatory search. 
  • You will not be able to enter Godiva Festival without a ticket (which can be purchased online now.)
  • Please note unaccompanied under 12s will not be allowed onto the festival site.
  • Please do not damage or lose the wristband you are given upon entry. Without a wristband, you will not be permitted to return to the festival the same day without paying again to re-enter the festival.
  • Anyone found in possession of drugs or weapons will be reported to the police and may face arrest.
  • Anyone appearing drunk or likely to cause crime or disorder will be refused entry. 
  • Dogs are NOT permitted within the Festival site. Please do not bring your dog or you will be refused entry. Only guide dogs and assistance dogs are permitted on site. If you have an assistance dog, please bring your dog’s Assistance Dogs ID book or other documents that identify your dog as an assistance dog.

By attending this event, you give your express consent to your actual/ simulated likeness to be included for no fee within any audio or visual recording to be used in any media for any purpose at any time. This includes filming by the police or security staff which may be carried out for the security of customers and/or the prevention of crime.

Prohibited items:

Please do NOT bring the following items to the Godiva Festival site. They will be confiscated:

  • Glass bottles and containers are not permitted on site and will be confiscated, including perfume bottles. Please do not bring anything that contains glass.
  • Any opened bottles of water will be confiscated.
  • Opened cans are not permitted.
  • Flares are not permitted.
  • Anyone trying to bring alcohol into the festival will have it confiscated. 
  • Drones and large professional-style/DSLR cameras are not permitted and will be confiscated. If you would like to bring your camera, you must be granted a photography pass.

Sealed, plastic bottles of water and soft drinks are permitted, however, our staff reserve the right to confiscate any sealed bottles they believe are fake. 

Want to do your bit for the environment and bring a refillable water bottle? No problem! But please ensure it’s empty when you arrive, or you may be asked to empty it. Free water stations will be on site so you can fill up your bottles throughout your stay.

Please avoid bringing large bags if possible as these will need to be searched and this can cause long queues. Picnics are welcome, but please be aware they will also need to be searched.

Sun cream is permitted on site, please ensure you bring some with you if it is sunny.

If you are bringing any medication with you, please notify security at the gates.

Please be aware that stages and tents may use strobe lighting and may cause a reaction if you have photosensitive epilepsy.
