Godiva Festival organisers have confirmed that free Wi-Fi will be available onsite this year.

Free Wi-Fi will be available across the site this year, except in the Fairground, thanks to a web-based application from IntechnologyWiFi.

Coventry City Council ICT staff have worked with IntechnologyWiFi and other suppliers to ensure the service allows the attendees to access the internet and social media.

The Wi-Fi can be accessed through a Wi-Fi hotspot, and after entering some basic information and an email address, attendees can access the Wi-Fi for free, so attendees can tweet and post to Facebook or Instagram to their hearts’ content.

Councillor Abdul Khan, Cabinet Member for Events at Coventry City Council said: “It’s great news that we’re able to offer Wi-Fi at this year’s Festival. We know that people love to take pictures to share with their friends or get in touch with us over the weekend, so it will be a great addition to the festival.”

Godiva Festival 2018 will take place from 31 August – 2 September in the city’s War Memorial Park and continues to be the biggest free family music festival in the UK, with last year’s event attracting 179,000 visits.

Attendees this year can look forward to seeing Ronan Keating, Jonas Blue, Cradle of Filth, Gaz Coombes, Peace, Editors, Asian Dub Foundation and Jake Bugg.

Coventry Godiva Festival is brought to you by Coventry City Council, in association with Free Radio and Jaguar Land Rover and supported by Coventry UK City of Culture 2021, Coventry University, Fargo and BBC Coventry & Warwickshire.
