Ollie Bond

Ollie Bond Godiva 2018

Performing on: Sunday 2 September

Ollie was the runner up in the Singer/Songwriter Category of Godiva Calling.

Ollie Bond is a Coventry based singer/songwriter, playing an 'up-beat' blend of acoustic, pop and folk music - taking his inspiration from artists such as Passenger, Jason Mraz and The Beatles. At a glance, Ollie has a simple set-up of just himself and his guitar, however he also uses what is known as a 'stomp box’ to provide a fuller sound that leans slightly more towards that of a small band. A bonus of adding this ‘bass drum-like’ percussive element to his music is that it really encourages audiences to get into the rhythm of the songs, dance along and enjoy the performance - which is really his main goal of performing.

Ollie found his roots in Bedfordshire before moving to Coventry last year to study at the University of Warwick. Since moving to the city he has been playing at many venues around the area and will continue to explore his way around this part of the country, hoping to win over audiences by doing so.

Previously, as part of a duo back home, Ollie has been lucky enough to reach the finals of national music competition ‘OpenMic UK’ at the London O2 and has been twice nominated for best acoustic act at Cambridge NMG awards.

Most recently, Ollie was placed as runner-up in this year’s Godiva Calling competition for Singer/Songwriters - so you can be sure to see him at Godiva Festival this year!
