Once again record crowds flocked to the Coventry Godiva Festival with 148,000 visits recorded over the festival weekend.
Sunday's crowds were also a record with an amazing 60,500 visits throughout the day taking in headliners Scouting for Girls, the family field attractions and the public launch of the city's bid to be UK City of Culture in 2021.
Now in its 18th year, the Festival continues to offer a great weekend and as ever crowds flocked to enjoy live music across all three days with all headliners proving very popular in the main field.
Godiva offers so much more than music with platforms for a huge range of local cultural talent, artists and performers.
Councillor Abdul Khan, Deputy Leader of Coventry City Council and Cabinet Member responsible for Events said:
"It's great that once again Godiva has attracted record visits to the park. The festival is a great event which offers something for everyone and we're delighted so many people chose to come along and enjoy Godiva 2016.
"The festival also hosted the city's bid to be UK City of Culture 2021 which showcased the amazing creative talent we have here in the city.
"Thank you for everyone who played their part in continuing to make Godiva the biggest free family music festival in the UK."
Throughout the weekend people took to twitter and other social media to say how much they enjoyed the event, comments included:

Just like to say what a wonderful time we had on Saturday at the Godiva Festival. My wife, myself, son and partner travelled from Birmingham on the train to the festival. Very impressed with the organisation of the whole thing. It even stopped dry(just!). Got back to Birmingham at 11.30pm no hassle. Well done to Coventry and all of those who helped to organise Godiva Festival. Hope it's on next year.
Coventry Godiva Festival 2016 was organised by Coventry City Council, supported by Jaguar Land Rover, Free Radio and Arts Council England and in association with Deliveroo, Fargo, Radio Plus, BBC Coventry & Warwickshire, Coventry Jubilee Rotary Club and the Coventry 2021 UK City of Culture Bid.
